Husband Andrew's Fail Safe Roast with Excellent Crackle
Ingredients
- Pork Roast
- Salt
- Oil (vegetable or olive oil)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
- Pour boiling hot water over the skin.
- Pat dry with paper towel.
- Drizzle with oil, enough for the salt to cling to.
- Rub salt into the skin until the skin feels gritty.
- Cook in oven at 180 degrees celcius for 40 minutes per 500g if roast is boned and 45 minutes per 500g if boneless.
- Let the roast sit on the bench in foil for 10 minutes.
- Slice and enjoy with apple sauce or gravy.
- Use leftovers the next day (if there is any!) for cold roast pork rolls with apple sauce.
